Crappy year? The worst. I don’t think we’ll ever overstate how truly abysmal 2020 truly has been. Okay, so what made it livable? Epic TV, that’s what.

I somehow managed to finally (and forever) cable cut this year and it was far easier than I had anticipated. (I also managed to cut about $100 a month off my cable bill in the process. Bonus!)

Frankly, I have never seen so much extraordinary movies outside a proper movie theatre, probably… ever! These are game changers that impact and influence every narrative we voice as talent. Not only do these remarkable stories feed our imaginations, they also offer a common frame of reference when it comes to direction and what’s current.  With that in mind…

Here are my top 15 favorite movies you might have missed & I think you’ll enjoy:

1. The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Netflix)
2. Mrs. America (HULU)
3. A Futile and Stupid Gesture (Netflix)
4. Palm Springs (HULU)
5. The Comey Rule (HULU)
6. Da 5 Bloods (Netflix)
7. Mank (Netflix)
8. On The Rocks (Apple TV)
9. The Midnight Sky (Netflix)
10. The Social Dilemma (Netflix)
11. Nomadland (HULU)
12. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Netflix)
13. All In: The Fight for Democracy (Prime)
14. Totally Under Control (HULU)
15. Portrait of a Lady on Fire (Apple TV)
